The biggest advantage of these systems is that the CD can hold high quality audio files so you get to listen to some real good music. Besides these units can be connected to high quality speakers to deliver a great listening experience.
Home Theatre Systems:
These are basically a complete integrated set of audio systems that have special speakers and ability to play more than just CDs. You can connect a DVD player to this system or just hook up your HDTV with HD video signals. Everything would play well in this system.
The benefit of a home theatre system is that it comes with 5:1 speakers so you can place them strategically to get the best surround sound effect. In true sense the home theatre system can transform your home into a theatre.
Home Desktop
While not many people would consider this to be a audio system, but unknowingly many tend to use I like that. How many times have you played songs on your desktop or listened to streaming audio online. The biggest benefit of desktop is that you can store lot more songs there than any other place. By choosing the songs you can create customised playlists to sit your moods. Very few audio systems offer this flexibility.
MP3 Players:
Till some years ago, no one would have placed a lot of importance to these small handy drives that can store and play music files. Today there are many home audio systems with great speakers and docking stations being developed to connect the MP3 player and paly the songs aloud. With the popularity of mp3 players, it is no more necessary to have all the songs on your desktop.
The latest m3 players have a capacity of over 100GB which means you can store thousands of songs there and play them as and when you need. Besides, they are a lot more portable than a desktop.
